” A caring heart that listens is often more valued than an intelligent mind that talks.” – Unknown
I have noticed when I stop that never ending flow of thought to speech cycle, or what we call talking, that people don’t notice my silence as long as I genuinely listen and care. And unless someone asks what I think, who am I to believe I can solve your problems and suffering? Perhaps you and I, when suffering, are learning new ways to live that will never happen without the suffering. I find that’s true for me, I don’t learn much when things are wonderful, I always learn in the down and dark times. I am slowly learning that witnessing, in compassion and caring, sometimes means more that my opinion about what others need to do.

Silence is golden kept running through my mind while reading this. When we can interact with one another by holding space and empathizing through listening, what a gift that is!!
