I think the secret is to avoid clinging to the critical self talk that ego supplies. It tries to convince us that we are broken and need to be fixed. We are not machines, or dishes, and are not in need of repair. We may be in need of paying attention but that too is just being human. We wobble, drift, and come back to focus.
If you hear a critical voice inside, realize that the chances are it’s not helpful. And often the critical voice inside is one that you would never accept or expect to hear from someone who cares about you.
Conditioned personality needs to find something that it can pretend needs to be fixed so it can stay in the center of the universe. It has the theory that “If it’s not about me, it’s not about anything.”
You are not broken and don’t need to be fixed, you need you to care and nurture who you are this moment. Don’t wait to fix yourself so you can be a better you tomorrow. Right now is the time, and right here is the place. You are totally capable of living whatever life offers. You know this because you are here and all the disasters of the past are history.
