Zen and the Art of Knowing

Anything we recognize and know is only a fragment of some whole. The concept of Dependent arising indicates that everything is connected and has influence on everything else. It’s vital to see that what we are examining is a fragment of a whole. This is not to say don’t examine. It is not to say that curiosity is useless. Just be aware of the natural boundaries of knowing. It’s a humble and realistic stance to adopt.

We cannot know and understand any specific thing in full.

We cannot know and understand everything in full.

We cannot know and understand the void fully.

Yet, despite this, we are connected to everything.

Like threads that make up a weave in a vast tapestry. The part

Is the whole, the whole is the part.

We are connected to things we cannot see, hear, feel, taste, touch, or know in our spacetime.

We as humans are so connected to everything.

How are you connected?

Gassho my friends,

Bryan
